SCinet Rolls Out
Fall is in the air, which also means the time has arrived for the annual installation of the world’s fastest temporary network.
A team of volunteers are gathering in Dallas this week to build SCinet, the SC Conference’s dedicated high-capacity network. It is indeed inspiring work that represents 365 days of planning.
Updates on the Staging Action
- SCinet staging kicked off this week with approximately 50 volunteers and $52 million in hardware, software, and services at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas.
- To connect all that gear to the rest of the world, Dallas crews recently finished running more than a mile of new fiber optic cable under several downtown Dallas landmarks, as shown in this one minute video:
And finally, check back for future SCinet progress reports as the team once again works to build SC’s one-of-a-kind network.
