SC18 Offers a Broad Range of Resources for Parents and Children of all Ages
Family-Friendly Options in Dallas
In an effort to keep SC18 as family-friendly and as inclusive as possible, parents will once again have the option of bringing their children to the conference. Listed below are several options for families.
Child care services are available in the convention center for registered attendees and exhibitors. For a small fee, children between the ages of 6 months and 12 years can participate.
All children (of any age) must be registered in advance. Access policies vary according to the age of the child and the particular conference venue involved. Click here for a short video on the onsite childcare services offered.
Children 6 months and under may be brought into all conference sessions. If the child begins to fuss or becomes a distraction to other attendees, the parent should step out to address the needs of the child. Reentry will be permitted once the disruption is resolved.
Child Access to Exhibits
To keep family members safe and comply with our insurance, child access to the Exhibits Hall is restricted based on age:
- Only children 16 years of age or older are allowed in the Exhibits Hall during installation, dismantling, or outside of Exhibits hours.
- Children ages 12–16 are allowed in the Exhibits Hall during regular hours, provided they have their own Exhibits Hall Only pass. Each child must wear (gets to wear!) a badge and must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times.
- During the Family Day session (Wednesday, 4–6 pm), parents and children of all ages are invited to walk through the Exhibits Hall. No additional fee is required, though all family members must register at the Assisted Registration Desk and obtain a wristband.
