Biography
Dr. Sokol Kosta is Assistant Professor at CMI, Department of Electronic Systems, Aalborg University Copenhagen, Denmark. He received the Bachelor and Master Degree in Computer Science (Summa cum Laude) from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in 2006 and 2009, respectively. In February 2013, he received the PhD degree in Computer Science from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. uring his PhD Sokol visited the Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, Berlin, Germany twice – 3 months in 2010 and 3 months in 2011 – as a research intern. Sokol did three years of PostDoc at Sapienza University, visiting in the meantime the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for one year.

His research interests include networking, distributed systems, and mobile cloud computing. He has published in some of the topmost conferences and journals like IEEE INFOCOM, ACM/USENIX HotCloud, IEEE P2P, IEEE SECON, ACM SIGMETRICS MAMA, IEEE Transaction on Mobile Com- puting, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE ICC, among others. He is co-author of a European Patent filed by Deutsche Telekom AG. He has served as TPC member of IEEE ICC 2016, IEEE PerCrowd 2018 workshop (in conjunction with IEEE PerCom 18), ICA3PP 2017, and as guest editor of the MATHHCE2017 special issue of the journal Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience. During his studies, Sokol has volunteered organizing the IPDPS 2009 conference in Rome, Italy. Sokol is member of ACM Sigmobile and IEEE ComSoc.
