Biography
Allen D. Malony is the CEO/Director of ParaTools, Inc. and a Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Oregon, where he is also the Director of the Oregon Advanced Computing Institute for Science and Society (OACISS). Prof. Malony directs research projects and advises Ph.D. graduate students in parallel processing, high-performance computing (HPC), parallel performance analysis, and computational/data science across domain fields, including human neuroscience, geological science, and computational chemistry. He has extensive experience in performance benchmarking and characterization of HPC systems and software, and has developed performance evaluation tools for a range of parallel HPC machines over the last 30 years. Prof. Malony and his research team are best known for the TAU Performance System, an open source parallel performance analysis technology used in production on large-scale supercomputing systems around the world.
