Dr. Gopal Patnaik is the Head, Laboratory for Advanced Computational Physics at the Naval Research Laboratory. As an expert in reactive flow (flame physics), Dr. Patnaik is the principal author of the current LES model FAST3D-CT and has included or modified for parallel implementation most of the advanced physics packages in FAST3D-CT. He leads NRL's urban contaminant transport work and he is one of the key architects and programmers of the CT-Analyst capability. He has been involved with high-performance computing since 1983 and is currently a member of the AIAA subcommittee on High-Performance Computing. He has been the PI/CoPI on projects for HPCMP on GPU computing and emerging architectures.
