Biography
Michael Matheson is a Senior Scientist in the Advanced Data and Workflows Group in the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His current research interests include high performance computing, scientific visualization, and scalable analytics. He has worked on projects involving engineering optimization, distributed rendering, and machine learning. He currently is a member of the pbdR project which is a set of highly scalable R packages for distributed and parallel computing and profiling in data science. His employment background has included the aerospace industry and supercomputing computer companies. He is a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Utah specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics.
