Biography
Duoming, more commonly referred to as Doreen, joined Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) in January 2018 as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Computational Sciences and Engineering (CCSE). She is currently responsible for developing and implementing the MAESTROeX code, which is used for low Mach number astrophysical flow, as part of the SciDAC project, “Towards Exascale Astrophysics of Merges and Supernovae”. Prior to LBNL, Doreen graduated from the University of Michigan with a doctorate in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific Computing. Her dissertation research focused on the development of a novel high-order numerical algorithm called Active Flux method to solve conservative systems, specifically those describing fluid flow.
