Davide Venturelli
Biography
Davide Venturelli graduated from Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon and obtained his Ph.D. in Numerical Simulations of the Condensed Matter at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste and in Nanophysics at the Universite de Grenoble (CNRS/UJF). In 2012, he joins the NASA Intelligent System Division (TI) as one of the founding members of the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (QuAIL), where he currently works under the NASA Academic Mission Service contract. He is also Quantum Computing team lead and Science Operations Manager of the Research Institute of Advanced Computer Science (RIACS) at the Universities Space Research Association (USRA) one of the most prominent institutions providing workforce to NASA. Venturelli is currently invested in research projects dealing with quantum optimization applications and their nearterm implementation in real hardware, a topic on which he published over 30 papers in international conferences and peer reviewed journals. His applied focus on algorithms is in advanced scheduling, telecommunication networks, robotics, AI planning, in collaborations with other governmental institutions, universities and the private sector.
