Dr. Torey Battelle was awarded her B.A. in Physics in 1985 from Middlebury College, graduating with honors. After gaining some ‘life experience’, she earned her Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Colorado School of Mines in 2013. She sampled a wide variety of subdisciplines during her graduate career, making significant contributions to several computational projects pertaining to actinides and nuclear fuels at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories and Idaho National Laboratory, before accepting a post-doctoral position with Dr. Timothy Kaiser in the High Performance Computing group at Colorado School of Mines. This post-doc evolved into her current function as Computational and Research Support Scientist. Her publications range from quantum information to the evolution of fission products in UO2 nuclear fuel pins to thermoelectric semimetals. She gladly lends her experience and expertise in the promotion of the emergent Research Computing profession.
