Working in the field of computational science for over 20 years, Robin started in computational chemistry research moving to the University of Manchester to join the national High Performance Computing centre. Progressing on to leading teams supporting Manchester academics optimise their use of computational, data analytics and visualisation techniques as part of their research. Robin also had remit to increase research collaboration across the campus and beyond; widen the use of research clouds, large scale HPC and other eResearch platforms; and effective management of large scale research data. He was also one of the founders of N8 HPC, an EPSRC funded regional HPC centre.

Robin is now Chief Technology Officer at the Hartree Centre. In this role, he will be working with colleagues in UK Research and Innovation and beyond to develop the vision for the centre and setting the technical strategy for realising that vision.
