Salvatore Filippone
Biography
Salvatore Filippone is a Lecturer and Option Leader in the Centre for Computational Engineering Sciences at Cranfield University, where he teaches various courses about Parallel Programming, Software Engineering and Scientific Computing. He is a specialist in software for Numerical Linear Algebra on parallel computers; he is also one of the founders of the OpenCoarrays project which provides the Coarray implementation used by the GNU Fortran compiler.

He holds an MSc in Electronics Engineering and a PhD in Mathematics, both from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". Dr FIlippone has held a position at IBM Co. where he was a lead developer of the ESSL/PESSL scientific libraries, and at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He is an Associate Editor for the ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software, and an evaluator of scientific projects for the European Commission and the National Science Foundation.
