Jose Gracia
Biography
Jose Gracia is head of the Scalable Programming Models & Tools research group at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS). He has a background in astrophysics and obtained his Doctorate degree from the University of Heidelberg in 2002. In the following years, he was recipient of two European Union Marie Curie Fellowships in Greece and Ireland, respectively. Later on, he became interested in higher-level abstractions of parallel computing and developer productivity and thus joined HLRS in 2009. His group does research on topics such as parallel debugging and correctness checks, new concepts for parallel programming models at scale, fault-tolerance in HPC, and collectives at extreme scale. His group has been involved in the EC projects CoE POP, Mont Blanc 2 & 3, CRESTA, HPCEuropa, H4H, PRACE, and national projects SmartDASH, DASH and Talpas.
