Mary Bass is Director of Communications and Outreach for Globus, a non-profit research data management service with tens of thousands of users worldwide. Her current role is to broaden awareness of the Globus service and its value, in order to help grow its adoption and make it self-sustaining. Mary has over 18 years experience in strategic planning, marketing, and business development for HPC software and hardware organizations. With a passion for communication and creative problem-solving, especially in support of innovative technologies that impact the greater good, Mary has worked with global businesses, universities, and startups to develop strategy, messaging, media plans, growth programs, partnerships, and content. Mary taught high school math for seven years before shifting to her current career. She holds a BS in mathematics cum laude from Davidson College in North Carolina.
