Biography
Caitlin Ross is a fifth year Ph.D. candidate in computer science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. She is also currently working at Argonne National Laboratory in a visiting student appointment as part of the US Department of Energy’s Office of Science Graduate Student Research program. Her doctoral research is in performance analysis and visualization of large-scale parallel discrete event simulations. She has previously served as Treasurer and Vice Chair for RPI’s ACM-W chapter and has helped to organize various student events, such as a women-focused hackathon. She also enjoys sharing her passion for programming and computer science with the next generation of scientists and computer scientists. For the past two years, Caitlin has helped develop and teach programming classes to elementary and middle school children though CoderDojo, as well as other children’s events held at RPI.
