DescriptionHPC architectures now provide special-purpose accelerated processing units to augment general purpose compute cores. In the future it is expected that architectural diversity will greatly increase, with heterogeneous components appearing at many levels of granularity. In this talk, I will discuss opportunities for including heterogeneous elements in the CPU, memory, and interconnect, ultimately resulting in HPC systems as diverse in in architectural components as the modern cell phone.
