Julie Ma is Project Leader for the Northeast Cyberteam Initiative at MGHPCC. In this role, among other things, she spearheaded the effort to launch Ask.CI, a Q&A site for the research computing community. She is also an elected member of the Campus Champions Leadership Team.
Julie has 30 years’ leadership experience spanning diverse businesses in the corporate and non-profit sectors. She began her career as a hardware engineer at BBN and designed the processor node for the BBN TC2000, one of the earliest commercial large-scale parallel processing computers. Technology trends and happenstance took her through a journey that included a 15-year stop in the arts, but she recently returned to the supercomputing world to join the Northeast Cyberteam, an NSF-sponsored initiative aiming to make research computing more accessible to small/medium-sized institutions in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. She holds an MSEE and BSEE from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
