Maurizio Drocco is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Richland (WA, USA), as member of the High-Performance Computing (HPC) group. Formerly, he has been Research Intern at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Lab (NY, USA), at the IBM Dublin Research Lab (Ireland), and at the University of Torino (Italy), where he received a PhD in Computer Science. His research concerns cross-stack parallel and distributed computing: lock-free synchronization, memory allocators, memory consistency models, up to high-level programming abstractions and semantics.
