Quincey Koziol is a Principal Data Architect at Berkeley Lab. Before joining LBNL, Mr. Koziol was the principal software architect for the HDF5 software project and a founding member of The HDF Group. HDF5 represents a revolutionary approach to providing fast, portable serial and parallel I/O, data sharability and application interoperability. In this effort, Mr. Koziol has designed and helped build a large I/O middleware project that is relied upon by many high-performance software simulation codes worldwide, along with many commercial software products. At NERSC, Mr. Koziol drives scientific data architecture discussions, participates in the NERSC-9 system storage and I/O design, and continues work on HDF5.
