Robert Henschel is director for Science Community Tools in IU's Research Technologies division. Henschel holds a master’s degree in computer science from Technische Universität Dresden, Germany, and has a strong background in high performance computing. In his role, Henschel leads teams that provide user and application support for IU’s advanced cyberinfrastructure. He is responsible for the National Center for Genome Analysis Support (NCGAS) as well as IU’s Advanced Biomedical IT Core. Henschel also serves as the chair of the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation High Performance Group (SPEC HPG) and the treasure for OpenACC.
