Dr. Muthu Baskaran, Managing Engineer, leads Reservoir Labs' Compilers and High-performance Computing Team. He has a successful track record in leading projects and publishing technical innovations in compilers, high-performance computing and data analytics. Dr. Baskaran holds M.S. (2008), and Ph.D. (2009) degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University. During his doctoral work, he designed and developed compiler techniques for modern hardware architectures. He is one of the main architects of Reservoir’s R-Stream compiler tool and ENSIGN data analysis tool. He is the primary inventor of several patented/patent-pending performance optimization and scalability techniques within R-Stream and ENSIGN. Dr. Baskaran serves as the Principal Investigator for CANDID, a project on developing a tensor decompositions based tool for network analysis and cyber security. His work has been published in several top-tier peer-reviewed conference proceedings. His paper on a key technology for scaling tensor analysis recently won the Best Paper Award at IEEE HPEC Conference.
