Adam J. Stewart is a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). His research focuses on large-scale applications of machine learning in the field of satellite remote sensing. This work makes use of Blue Waters for storing hundreds of TBs of satellite imagery and for hyperparameter tuning. Before starting graduate school, Adam was an HPC system administrator at the Laboratory Computing Resource Center (LCRC) at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), where he pioneered the use of Spack to handle software installations for 300+ active users. He received his B.S. in Science of Earth Systems from Cornell University in 2014, with a concentration in Computational Geophysics.
