Biography
Yuefan Deng is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at Stony Brook University, and the Mt. Tai Scholar at the National Supercomputer Center in Jinan, China. He received his B.S. in physics from Nankai University in 1983 and M.A., M. Phil., and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University in 1985, 1986 and 1989, respectively. Dr. Deng has published more than 90 papers in physics, applied mathematics, biomedical engineering, and biosciences, in addition to the Biography of Chen-Ning Yang, the Nobel laureate. He has also published four books on ordinary differential equations and parallel computing. He has been granted 13 patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office and China’s State Intellectual Property Office.
