SUMMARY:WarpX: Toward Exascale Modeling of Plasma Particle Accelerators
DESCRIPTION:Poster\nTech Program Reg Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass\n\nWarpX: Tow
ard Exascale Modeling of Plasma Particle Accelerators\n\nThevenet, Vay, Al
mgren, Bell, Lehe...\n\nTurning the current experimental plasma accelerato
r state-of-the-art from a promising technology into mainstream scientific
tools depends critically on high-performance, high-fidelity modeling of co
mplex processes that develop over a wide range of space and time scales. A
s part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Exascale Computing Project, a te
am composed of LBNL, SLAC and LLNL researchers is developing a new plasma
accelerator simulation tool: WarpX. We will present the code structure and
how it articulates around its main components: the new Particle-In-Cell S
calable Application Resource (PICSAR) and the adaptive mesh refinement lib
rary AMReX, which are combined with redesigned elements of the Warp code,
in the new WarpX software. The status, examples of convergence, scaling an
 d applications will be presented.
